Privacy Policy

Print-disabled students’ personal data:

The Accessibility Unit of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) would like to inform you that the personal data you enter in the “Student’s Activity and Participation Restrictions’ Registration Form” are collected and processed in order for the Accessibility Unit to provide the Services described on its website access.uoa.gr within the framework of fulfilling its obligations towards NKUA’s students and staff in accordance with the legislation in force. Art. 6 paragraph 1 (c) of the GDPR (EU) 2016/679 is the applicable legal basis for collecting and processing your personal data. Your data will be retained by the NKUA for a time period specified by the legal and regulatory framework, as applicable from time to time; after that they will be deleted. During the retention period the NKUA is the data processor and grants access to your data only to its personnel for the purpose of fulfilling the duties assigned to it by the University. During this period you can exercise your rights of access, to rectification and update, to restriction of processing, to object and to data portability in accordance with the GDPR (EU) 2016/679.

Publishing Houses’ Legal Representatives’ Personal Data:

The Accessibility Unit of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) would like to inform you that the contact details of each Publishing House’s Legal Representative, who administers the user’s account of the Publishing House (s)he represents, will be collected for the purpose of fulfilling the legal obligations of both parties (NKUA and Publishing Houses). These data will be retained by the NKUA for a time period specified by the legal and regulatory framework, as applicable from time to time and will be deleted subsequently. During the above mentioned period the Accessibility Unit personnel will have access to your contact details within the framework of fulfilling the duties assigned to it by the University as data processor. During this period you can exercise your rights of access, to rectification and update, to restriction of processing, to object and to data portability in accordance with the GDPR (EU) 2016/679.

The NKUA has appointed a Data Protection Officer whom you can contact at dpo@uoa.gr. Additionally, you have the right to refer to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr).
