Any and all intellectual property rights ("Intellectual Property”) associated with the website and its contents (“Contents”) are property of the Accessibility Unit, companies affiliated with it (Publishing Houses, Publishers) or third parties (Authors). The content is protected by intellectual property legislation as well as other laws in Greece.

According to the Greek Ministerial Decision ΥΠΠΟ/ΔΙΟΙΚ/98546 of the 24th of October 2007, which specifies the terms under which the regulation of Art. 28A of the Law 2121/1993 is to be implemented, the reproduction of legally published works, in this case of academic textbooks, in specific forms carried through by Higher Education Institutes to the benefit of persons with disabilities and only for uses directly linked with the disability and for non-commercial purposes is allowed. The institution undertaking the reproduction and conversion of the work in accessible form is responsible for ascertaining that the person, to whom the reproduced and converted work is made available, has the properties justifying the reproduction, conversion and provision thereof. Print-disabled students, who are not able to read printed information effectively because of optic, physical, sensory, developmental, cognitive or learning disability, are eligible for obtaining academic textbooks in accessible form. More specifically, persons with upper-limb disability, blind persons or with low-vision or dyslexia fall into this category.

A) it requests that the publishers provide a) the digital files of the works, to which they have legal access and b) the permission to use them,

B) it requests that the benefitting students who have applied for the conversion, submit a) a certificate for being print-disabled student as well as entitled to the works they are applying for and b) a formal statement that they will safeguard the copyright of these works, as demanded by these Terms of Use and the Greek legislation.

Every action necessary for making a copy of the work and converting it into accessible format is carried through by the Accessibility Unit free of charge on a non-profit basis (e.g. Publishing Houses granting access to the digital files of the works for free).

Any use or modification to any academic textbook format available on the website in whichever way is not allowed. It is not allowed to copy, reproduce, modify, lease, loan, sell or use in order to create derivative works from it, upload, transmit or distribute the intellectual property items of the website in any way without prior written consent of the Accessibility Unit or of an appropriate third party. Except as expressly provided herein, the Accessibility Unit grants you no express or implied rights to its intellectual property or that of any third party.

The Accessibility Unit hereby grants you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the website, its content and information only in the manner presented and expressly permitted by the Accessibility Unit. You may not make, sell, offer for sale, modify, reproduce, display, perform in public, import, distribute, retransmit or otherwise use the content in any way, unless you have the express permission of the Accessibility Unit to do so.

(g) You may not frame or utilize framing techniques to enclose any portion or aspect of the content or the information, without the express written consent of the Accessibility Unit.

8. Written Document

You may preserve these Terms of Use in written form by printing them for your records, and you waive any other requirement for these Terms of Use to be proved by means of a written document.

The Accessibility Unit acting in accordance with the Greek legislation in force (cf. Law 4672/2020 and more recent ones) as the institution responsible for converting academic textbooks or other types of educational material in accessible form, follows the procedure set forth below for each work, which is to be converted in accessible form:
